Where are the classes taught?
All of our classes are in-person and take place in a serene, comfortable environment. Our address is 12985 SW 130 Court Suite 205, Miami, Florida 33186.
Are classes taught in a group or private settings?
We provide classes in an intimate group setting, no more than 8-10 couplets. Private classes are an option, please contact us for availability and pricing.
What if I am a no-show?
We do not offer refunds, transfers or credits.
Can I reschedule my class?
Yes, you may reschedule your class at no cost at least 7 days prior to your class start date. See terms and conditions for further details.
How many people can I bring to the class?
Class payment allows for you to bring 1 support partner with you to the class, with the exception of the mental health workshops which are per person.
Do I have to bring my support partner?
You don’t have to; you are welcome to come by yourself.
What is the purpose of a childbirth class?
A crucial aspect of preparing for childbirth is taking a childbirth class. They can help you feel less anxious about the ambiguities of labor and delivery. These classes are great for first-time parents but are beneficial for second- or third-time parents as well.
At what stage in pregnancy should I take the childbirth class?
Ideally any time during your third trimester, BUT you are welcome anytime.
What is a breastfeeding class?
You will discover the fundamentals of lactation. Topics covered will include: how to determine if your baby is receiving enough nutrition, how to latch your baby to the breast, various techniques/positions to breastfeed and going to back work to name a few.
Should I take a breastfeeding class before birth?
Yes, but you can take it after delivery as well. It is desirable to take a breastfeeding class in your third trimester, ideally after you have taken a childbirth class.
What to expect during a lactation consultation?
A complete health history with details about your current health, pregnancy, delivery, assessment of the breast and nipples, evaluation of current milk supply. Your baby’s birth weight, any weight fluctuations since then, latest pediatrician visit details and discuss your questions and concerns. You will leave with a feeding plan and the visit may take 1 to 1.5 hours.
How do I prepare for a lactation consultation?
Make sure your baby is due for a feeding for the consultation, bring any pillows you are using to assist with feedings, diaper bag, breast pump with flanges, questions and comfortable clothing you can feed the baby easily with.
What can maternal & family mental health counseling offer assistance with?
A licensed healthcare professional who can help you cope with fertility challenges, post-partum depression, pregnancy loss, fetal loss, anxiety, depression, trauma and a variety of topics.
